Associate of Science Degree (Environmental Science)
Introduction
Associate of Science Degree (Environmental Science) is a Bachelor program taught at Northern Lights College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Northern Lights College offers the Associate of Science (ASc) Degree in Environmental Science. Students study cross-disciplinary topics related to local and global environmental issues, with a practical and theoretical curriculum. The program prepares students for further study in Environmental Sciences and provides a foundation for employment in environmental monitoring, ecological restoration, and conservation services.
The ASc in Environmental Science uses a curriculum that combines practical and theoretical approaches. The program requires 60 credits (1050 hours), minimum, and includes first- and second-year coursework plus specific science, English, mathematics, and arts requirements. Students may begin off-cycle in January or May, and this may lead to a study period of over two years to complete the credential.
The program is designed for transfer into a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences (as stated: transfer into the third year of a four-year degree program with 120 credits). It can also be applied toward professional designations including Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo), Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio), and Registered Agrologist (P.Ag).
