Criminology Certificate
Introduction
Criminology Certificate is a Diploma program taught at Northern Lights College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.
The Criminology Certificate at Northern Lights College is awarded to students who complete ten designated courses, equivalent to one year of planned first and second-year courses, at Northern Lights College. Students study introductory criminology, the criminal justice system, Canadian law and legal institutions, academic writing, and introductions to psychology and sociology.
The program is 30 credits (450 hours), taken over two semesters with a minimum of 15 credits per semester. It can be taken full-time or part-time, and registration is completed semester-by-semester. Students complete required courses, then choose additional criminology electives to reach the designated set of courses for the certificate.
The certificate is intended to prepare students for entry-level employment positions and continued studies in professional programs, including Corrections, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Forensic Studies, and Law Enforcement at university or university-college transferring institutions.
