Academic Upgrading
Introduction
Academic Upgrading is a program taught at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Based on course(s)) options.
Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Academic Upgrading program offers high school equivalency courses. Students complete a variety of courses based on their academic goals, including upgrading high school courses. All courses are Alberta high school equivalency courses (not Alberta Education credit courses). SAIT says these courses are accepted by other Alberta post-secondary educational institutions for admission, and that Academic Upgrading cannot be used to earn a high school diploma.
SAIT states the program length is based on the courses a student takes. Courses are delivered in person (Main Campus) or online. SAIT also describes flexible class times, with options during the day, evening, or online. Students are advised to have access to a personal computer for classes and are supported through free student services such as self-directed learning resources and workshops, writing support, financial advising, and counselling services.
SAIT says the program is for students who do not meet the requirements for certificate, diploma, applied degree, and bachelor's degree programs. For some students, SAIT also notes that Academic Upgrading can be taken alongside Open Studies by applying to Open Studies first and then contacting [email protected] for registration help.
