Introduction

Biomedical Studies is a Bachelor program taught at University of Northern British Columbia, Canada. Intake: Sep. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 Years) options.

Biomedical Studies at the University of Northern British Columbia (Bachelor of Health Sciences, BHSc) builds a foundational, multi-disciplinary knowledge base across the natural, physical, and social sciences. The program includes population health and research methodology, with course topics covering biology, chemistry, functional anatomy, statistics, genetics, ethics and law in healthcare, and nutrition in the first two years.

Students then expand into broader health-related disciplines, including human physiology, First Nations health and healing, cell and molecular biology, epidemiology, human health and development, and health and chronic disease management. The program offers experiential learning options such as co-op, study abroad, undergraduate research experience, and an honours option. Part-time study is available.

The degree is designed to prepare students for career opportunities in fields such as nursing, pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, speech pathology, and physiotherapy, and it also supports graduate study toward a master’s degree and/or a PhD.
