Introduction

Certified Dental Assistant is a program taught at University of the Fraser Valley, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 year) options.

University of the Fraser Valley offers a 10-month Certified Dental Assistant certificate that prepares students to support a dentist at chair side and complete independent tasks. The program covers procedures or surgeries support, plus duties such as placing dental dams, taking dental x-rays, and making teeth impressions. Students also provide preventive care, including polishing teeth and applying sealants.

The program includes two practica, providing full-time experience in a dental office to prepare students for future employment. UFV says small class sizes support close interaction with instructors who are industry experts.
