Bachelor's in Creative Writing
Introduction
Creative Writing is a Bachelor program taught at University of the Fraser Valley, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
University of the Fraser Valley’s Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with a minor or extended minor builds tools, techniques, and support for writing. Students explore multiple genres, including fiction, drama, poetry, and screenwriting, to develop their own voice and improve skilled storytelling.
The degree uses small classes for feedback from peers and professors. Students can join the editorial board of Louden Singletree, UFV’s student-run literary and visual arts magazine, or contribute to Cascade, UFV’s student newspaper. The program also offers optional paid work placements through the UFV Co-operative Education program, with work experience and references.
Students can pair the Creative Writing minor or extended minor with any other major offered in the Bachelor of Arts. The program positions writing and editing experience for future roles in content and communications across books, magazines, websites, newspapers, movies, television, advertising, gaming, social media, and blogs.
