Introduction

Access to Practical Nursing is a Diploma program taught at Vancouver Community College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.

Access to Practical Nursing at Vancouver Community College is a diploma program that prepares students to apply the Entry Level Competencies for Licensed Practical Nurses. Students practice safe, competent, culturally safe and ethical care, and apply relevant legislation, BCCNM Standards of Practice Framework for LPNs, and Health Professions Act requirements.

The program is full-time and class-based. It is thirteen months in length and is divided into three levels, each of which must be completed before starting the next. Levels use a Consolidated Practice Experience, and a final practice experience or preceptorship prepares graduates for the role and expectations.
