Animation, Master of Arts (Art and Design) is a Masters program taught at Aalto University, Finland. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.
Aalto University’s Master of Arts in Animation combines hands-on artistry with foundational theory. The programme covers storytelling, visualisation, pre-production, directing, character design and character animation, using 2D and 3D animation techniques from CGI to cartoon and stop frame.
The two-year programme is organised into advanced major studies, elective studies and a master’s thesis. In the first year, students build core animation skills.
