It also covers model-based and data-based methods, automatic quality control, data-driven fault detection, predictive and forecasting techniques, and the application and development of AI agents.

The programme is 60 ECTS credits and takes two years. It is organised as part-time study with contact teaching and independent learning. Teaching is in English. The studies are arranged so that they can be combined with full-time work, with two study days a month from September to June. The teaching includes virtual parts, intensive course days mainly at Campus Vaasa, laboratory assignments, hands-on exercises, and development projects linked to real working life.

The thesis is 30 ECTS and is carried out as a research and development project related to working life. Novia University of Applied Sciences says the programme is linked to the Intelligent Systems Institute, and that the network of partner universities offers opportunities for internationalisation.
