Master of Health Care, Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology

Master of Health Care, Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology is a autumn 2026spring 2027 Masters program taught at South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Xamk, Finland. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 years) options.

Master of Health Care, Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology at Xamk focuses on sports medicine and exercise physiology for professionals working independently or in expert teams in coaching or rehabilitation. The programme covers exercise physiology assessment and measurement methods, latest technology in the field, evidence-based rehabilitation of sports and exercise injuries, research methods, entrepreneurship, leadership, psychological aspects, and testing and assessment in rehabilitation, physical activity and sports.

The degree is 90 ECTS credits. Xamk delivers it as part-time study, usually online and in blended mode. It includes one contact teaching period of 3-4 days at the beginning of the first academic year in Kotka. The studies are divided into core competence, complementary competence and a master’s thesis.

Xamk says the programme prepares students for work independently or in an expert team in coaching or rehabilitation tasks as a specialist in sports medicine and exercise physiology, and for development and specialist roles in the field of sports and physical activity.

The minimum requirements for admission in Master of Health Care, Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology at South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Xamk for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Xamk.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Xamk as pre-requiste for admission in Master of Health Care, Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology.
