M2 Fundamental Microbiology is a Masters program taught at Université Paris-Saclay, France. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
M2 Fundamental Microbiology is a full-time master’s degree with a specialization in Microbiology at Université Paris-Saclay. Students study microbial diversity and the fundamentals of genetics and genomics, with a focus on microbial cell biology in the “Molecular and Cellular Microbiology” track and an emphasis on understanding viral cycles in eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells in the “Virology” track. The program covers molecular mechanisms and cellular interactions across models such as bacteria, archaea, eukaryotic microorganisms, and viruses.
The program has two tracks and combines core courses, track-specific courses, and elective courses. Core elements include functional genomics, synthetic microbiology, and data exploration using bioinformatics tools. It also includes a two-week practical course in Integrative Microbiology, conducted in I2BC or MICALIS laboratories. In the second semester, students complete a six-month internship in a laboratory and practice oral scientific communication and project writing.
The minimum requirements for admission in M2 Fundamental Microbiology at Université Paris-Saclay for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:
