Umweltingenieur BS

In the Bachelor Umweltingenieurwesen (B.Sc.) at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus - Senftenberg, students learn how to respond to challenges such as high energy and resource use, climate change, and ecosystem disruption. The course uses an integrative, cross-disciplinary approach and focuses on the conservation and development of human living and production areas. Students work at the interface between environmental and natural sciences and engineering methods, with an emphasis on applying them as sustainably as possible.

The program is structured with engineering-science fundamentals in the first three semesters, followed by a deeper subject-specific focus. From semesters three to six, students can choose specializations in Umweltsysteme or Umwelttechnik. A mobility semester is integrated in the fifth semester, where students can choose an industry internship or a semester abroad. The Bachelor thesis is completed in the sixth semester. The study form is full-time, taught in German.
