Introduction
Master of Counseling is a Masters program taught at Evangelische Hochschule für Soziale Arbeit Dresden (FH), Germany. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (5 semesters) options.
Evangelische Hochschule für Soziale Arbeit Dresden (FH) offers the Master of Counseling as a continuing education programme titled “Beratung im Kontext von Diversität (Master of Counseling)”. Students study counselling on master level with a method- and school-spanning academic approach. The programme focuses on counselling individual people, families, and organisations in both theory and practice, guided by the German Society for Counselling (DGfB) and its quality standards.
The programme has a standard period of 5 semesters and uses a “berufsintegrierendes Weiterbildungsstudium” study form. It includes a central element of reflective engagement with students’ own counselling practice to develop sustained and responsible counselling competence. The university frames the course as suitable for people working in counselling, those who want to specialise in a specific practice field, and those who want to deepen skills in dealing with diversity.
