M.Sc Biochemistry
Introduction
M.Sc Biochemistry is a 2 years Masters program taught at Friedrich-Schiller-University, Jena, Germany. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time and part-time options. To successfully obtain M.Sc Biochemistry from Friedrich-Schiller-University you are required to complete 120 credit hours. After completion of M.Sc Biochemistry you will be able to further continue for advance studies or start career as Biomedical Engineer, Biotechnologist, BioChemist, Biomedical Scientist, Laboratory Technician, Pharmacologist, Biomedical Researcher.
Building on their existing knowledge of biochemistry and molecular biology, students in the M.Sc. The biochemistry program will learn to apply methodical approaches to the analysis of biomolecules and cellular functions on molecular levels. The focus will be placed on concepts and methods from the fields of bioinformatics, biophysics, chemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology.
Students may choose three of the following modules: Biological Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics and Theoretical Biology, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology. In addition, the M. Sc. Biochemistry offers a great deal of practical work and independent projects. This gives students the chance to design and conduct scientific research as well as to document and present their results orally and in writing (particularly in English).
