Dramaturgie

Dramaturgie is a program taught at Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig, Germany. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Bachelorstudium: sieben Semester) options.

The Dramaturgie programme explores how phenomena are structured and shaped through dramaturgy. Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig presents dramaturgy as a link between scientific and artistic work, covering topics such as individual art works, relationships between works, and institutional profile building. It also includes how dramaturgies in staged work connect to political and social contexts.

For the Bachelor degree, Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig states that the study lasts seven semesters. Admission requires Hochschulreife, a half year of practice in the theatre, media, music, or dance area, and passing the admission test.

The programme admits max. 10 students each winter semester, so up to max. 30 BA students study at the same time in three cohort groups. The Master programme takes up to eight students every two years and includes individual emphases, building on Bachelor knowledge.

The minimum requirements for admission in Dramaturgie at Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

Bachelor: Voraussetzung ist die Hochschulreife, ein halbes Jahr Praxis im Theater-, Medien-, Musik- oder Tanzbereich sowie das Bestehen der Aufnahmeprüfung.

• Jedes Jahr im Wintersemester werden jeweils max. 10 Studierende aufgenommen, so dass gleichzeitig immer max. 30 BA-Studierende in 3 Jahrgangsgruppen studieren.
• Bewerbungen sind in der Regel Anfang bis Ende März auf unserem Online-Portal möglich.
• Aufnahmeprüfungen finden Anfang Juni statt.

Master: Im Masterstudiengang werden alle zwei Jahre bis zu acht Studierende aufgenommen, die vorher einen Bachelor-Studiengang (auch in anderen Fächern) absolviert und die Aufnahmeprüfung bestanden haben.
