Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science

Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science is a Bachelor program taught at Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Health Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong has two closely linked areas. The Exercise Science component explores human movement and how the body reacts to acute and chronic physical activity, including general fitness regimes, lifestyle physical activities, and elite sport. The Health Education component examines prescribed physical activities, and theories and strategies for health promotion. Courses support individuals and communities in understanding health issues and preventing unhealthy lifestyle and behaviour linked to chronic disease, disability, and poor quality of life.

The programme includes major requirements that cover Exercise and Health, Skills Courses, Research Experience, Internship, and Electives. It also includes university requirements such as English, university and college general education, and Foundations/education components listed as Understanding China, Hong Kong in the Wider Constitutional Order, and other electives. Students complete a minimum of 69 units of courses for graduation, with variation due to course and unit exemptions.

Graduates are prepared for professional practice in exercise science, behavioural science, and health-related careers. Career prospects listed include administrators in government subvented or national sports associations, physical training officers and inspectors in disciplinary forces, executives in fitness and leisure industries, and supervisors or officers in private and commercial sectors.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Chinese University of Hong Kong for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Chinese University of Hong Kong.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Chinese University of Hong Kong as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.
