Bachelor of Science Honours in Occupational Therapy is a Bachelor program taught at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. Intake: Sept. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Occupational Therapy is an outcome-based programme that combines medical, physical, neurological, psychological, and social subjects. Students learn to enhance functional performance for community-dwelling people with disabilities in self-care, leisure, and work, and to maximise occupational performance. It also prepares students to deliver occupation-based, client-centred occupational therapy and to support equal opportunities in the community.
Teaching integrates academic and clinical education, using Web-based teaching and self-learning packages. Clinical education is delivered through placements in settings across Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and overseas. Students undertake placements in hospitals, outpatient clinics, childcare centres, elderly care homes, adult training centres, workshops, and long-stay care homes. Overseas placements are organised in partnership with Curtin University of Technology, the University of South Australia, the University of Toronto, McGill University, Metropolitan University College, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, the University of Southern California, Singapore Institute of Technology, and Chang Gung University.
