Master of Computer Application

Master of Computer Application is a Masters program taught at Vellore Institute of Technology, India. Intake: July. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years (4 semesters)) options.

The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a post-graduation programme that allows students to pursue the course of VIT. The programme is offered as an MCA 2 years programme with 4 semesters and is available at the VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, and VIT-Bhopal campuses.

Admissions require applying online, paying a non-refundable application fee of Rs.1200/-, and registering for VITMEE, a Computer Based Objective test at indicated test centres. Short-listed candidates complete online counselling to choose campus and branch, and selected candidates pay the full fees to confirm admission.

The minimum requirements for admission in Master of Computer Application at Vellore Institute of Technology for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Vellore Institute of Technology.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Vellore Institute of Technology as pre-requiste for admission in Master of Computer Application.

Nationality: The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have graduated from Institutions located in India. Foreign and NRI/PIO applications are to be made separately.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates should have graduated with a full-time degree from any recognized University/Institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% or First class for MCA degree programme. Consistent Record in X and XII Std is required. Candidates appearing for their final degree exam/final semester exam in the current year are also eligible to apply. Candidates should have completed their final Semester/year exams before the selection counselling at VIT.

Programme eligibility (MCA): Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of Minimum three year duration in B.Sc(CS) / BCA / BSc(IT) with 60 % (as well as in class 10th & 12th) or 1st class in qualifying examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects at graduate level / 10+2 level. Other equivalent degrees, with 60 % (as well as in class 10th & 12th) or 1st class in qualifying examination, which has been approved and recognized by approval authorities of which Computer Science and Mathematics as major subjects during their programme of study. [Equivalence certificate from the University/Institute has to be submitted for double/triple major degrees]

Admission process requirement: VITMEE is the mandatory entrance examination for MCA admission.
