Introduction

Bachelor of Education - Gaeltacht Applicants Pathway is a Bachelor program taught at Dublin City University, Ireland. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 Years) options.

Dublin City University’s Bachelor of Education - Gaeltacht Applicants Pathway is an undergraduate programme for primary teaching. Ullmhóidh an Baitsiléir san Oideachas tú do ghairm bheatha mar Mhúinteoir Bunscoile. The course covers subjects to be taught and includes leadership and communication skills, with modules in Síceolaíocht, Fealsúnacht, Socheolaíocht an Oideachais and Stair an Oideachais.

The programme is delivered full-time and lasts 4 years. It includes placement (Socrúchán) with students in schools each year, including extended placements in Years 3 and 4. Students also visit the nGaeltacht for four weeks. Year 1 includes selecting up to three specialisms, with one continuing as a major specialism through Years 2 to 4.

Admission Requirements

Minimum age of 16 by 15th January in the year of entry.
6 Leaving Certificate subjects at Grade 06/H7, with at least 3 subjects at H5. The subjects presented must include English, Irish and Maths.
