Foundation in Business Studies

Foundation in Business Studies is a Diploma program taught at Asia Metropolitan University, Malaysia. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 year) options.

The Foundation in Business Studies at Asia Metropolitan University provides academic grounding in key areas of business and management. Students study business and management concepts, economics, accounting, management, and communication, with an emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

The programme is delivered over three semesters, with modules that include Introduction to Business Management, Principles of Accounting, Business law, and Introduction to Information Technology, followed by Entrepreneurship, Business Mathematics, Business Communication, Writing and Research Skills, and Introduction to Economics (Micro and Macro). Semester three covers Basic Business Statistics, Business Ethics, and Critical Thinking, plus a co-curriculum.

The minimum requirements for admission in Foundation in Business Studies at Asia Metropolitan University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Asia Metropolitan University.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Asia Metropolitan University as pre-requiste for admission in Foundation in Business Studies.

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)

• Pass with a minimum of Grade C in five (5) subjects with a pass in English.

Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)

• Pass with a minimum of Grade B in three (3) subjects with a pass in English.

O-Level

• Pass O-Level with at least Grade C in five (5) subjects with a pass in English; OR
• Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Progression to pursue Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) and Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons)

• Credits in Mathematics and English at SPM Level or its equivalent.
