Diploma in Ict

Diploma in Ict is a Diploma program taught at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), Malaysia. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2+ years) options.

The Diploma in Information & Communication Technology at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) covers computing and information and communications technology from academic and vocational angles. Students study solutions design, software development, and technology infrastructure support, with an emphasis on applying technology in a business and organisational context.

The programme runs full time for 2+ years and is organised across semesters with modules in information systems, internet applications, computer architecture, programming, operating systems, networking, databases, web development, and entrepreneurship. Students also complete an internship/industrial training for a minimum period of 12 weeks and a capstone project that plans, designs, and implements a complete solution.

The minimum requirements for admission in Diploma in Ict at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU).
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) as pre-requiste for admission in Diploma in Ict.

• SPM: 3 Credits in at least 3 subjects at SPM level including Mathematics#, with a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History);
• IGCSE/O-LEVELS: 3 Credits (Grade C & above) in at least 3 subjects at IGCSE/O-Levels including Mathematics#;
• UEC: 3 Credits (Grade B & above) in at least 3 subjects in UEC including Mathematics#;
• CERTIFICATE: Pass relevant Certificate Programme or its equivalent;
• # Candidates with only a Pass in Maths in SPM/IGCSE/O-Levels or equivalent will be required to complete and pass “Mathematics and Statistics for Computing” in their Semester 1 of Diploma.
• A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.

Note: The above entry requirements may differ for specific programmes based on the latest programme standards published by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The qualification and entry requirements for the programmes will be determined based on the “Comparison List of Equivalency of International Qualifications with SPM (O-Levels equivalent) and STPM (A-Levels equivalent)” published by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
