Introduction

Diploma in Information Technology is a Diploma program taught at Nilai University College, Malaysia. Intake: JANUARY / JUNE / SEPTEMBER. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2.5 Years; 7 Semesters) options.

The Diploma in Information Technology at Nilai University College prepares students for work in IT by combining foundational computing topics with business-focused study. Students cover core areas such as Understanding Computing, Calculus and Algebra, Computer Organisation, Data Communications and Networking, Database Development, Discrete Mathematics, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, and Programming and systems modules.

Teaching is structured across 7 semesters over 2.5 years. The programme includes a final year project, a summative computing project, and industrial training with an internship. Students also select electives that include Internet Programming and options such as Introduction to IoT, Introduction to Cloud Computing, and Principles of Entrepreneurship.

Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in Diploma in Information Technology at Nilai University College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

program specific academic requirment set by Nilai University College.
English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Nilai University College as pre-requiste for admission in Diploma in Information Technology.

SPM: Pass with credit in at least 3 subjects (inclusive of Mathematics or equivalent); or

O-level: Pass with at least Grade C in any 3 subjects, including Mathematics; or

UEC: Pass with at least Grade C in any 3 subjects, including Mathematics; or

STPM: Pass with a minimum Grade C Grade Point (GP) 2.00 in a subject and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level (or its equivalent; or

A-Level: Pass with a minimum grade D in any subjects and grade C in SPM/O-Level Mathematics; or

STAM: Pass with a minimum grade of Maqbul and credit in Mathematics at SPM level, or its equivalent; or

SKM (MQF Level 3) in related field Pass. Internal assessment on Mathematics competency may be carried out; or Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field Pass with at least CGPA 2:00

Notes: Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level may be admitted if their admission qualification contains Mathematic subjects equivalent to SPM level. Otherwise, they need to take a reinforcement Mathematic subject in the first semester

International students with qualifications from educational systems where English language is the main medium of instruction are exempted from this requirement. International students who do not fulfil the English Language Requirements may join the Intensive English Programme at Nilai University which builds their skills in the language and prepares them for the Linguaskill examination.
