Diploma in Computer Science

Diploma in Computer Science is a Diploma program taught at Universiti Industri Selangor, Malaysia. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 ½ Years) options.

The Diploma in Computer Science at Universiti Industri Selangor (UNISEL) is a two-year program that develops foundational knowledge and practical skills in computing. It covers core areas connecting computer science, mathematics, and technology, with training in programming, database management, computer networking, web development, and human-computer interaction.

Teaching uses hands-on projects, laboratory work, and industry-driven assignments. Students also complete lab sessions, projects, and assignments for practical training, with industry exposure described through collaborations with tech companies for internships and industrial visits. The program leads to entry-level roles in software development, IT support, web development, and network administration.

The minimum requirements for admission in Diploma in Computer Science at Universiti Industri Selangor for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Universiti Industri Selangor.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Universiti Industri Selangor as pre-requiste for admission in Diploma in Computer Science.

To enroll in the Diploma in Computer Science (DCS) program at UNISEL, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Possess SPM with at least THREE (3) credits in any subjects (inclusive of Mathematics or any equivalent qualification); OR
• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum grade of C [Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.00] in any subject or equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
• Possess SKM Level 3 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent, OR
• A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in any qualification with at least a CGPA of 2.00; OR
• A pass in any qualification equivalent to certificate (Level 3, MQF); OR
• Other relevant & equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.

Additional notes:

• Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at an SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the certificate programme contains subjects in Mathematics that are equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level.
• Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level and without a related certificate need to take a reinforcement Mathematics subject with appropriate topics in the discipline of Computing at the beginning of the study.
• Candidates with a credit in a Computing-related subject at SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

Achieve a minimum score of 4.5 in the IELTS or equivalent.
