Master of Educational Leadership

Master of Educational Leadership is a Semester 1 (October) Intake; Semester 2 (March) Intake Masters program taught at Universiti Malaya, Malaya, Malaysia. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Full-Time Duration: 2 Semester + 1 Semester, (Coursework); P) options.

The Master of Educational Leadership and Management (Coursework) at Universiti Malaya is designed for students to study educational leadership and management through core courses and electives. Core topics include Research Methods in Education, Quantitative and Qualitative Data Analysis, Seminar on Educational Scholarship, Application of Leadership and Management Theories in Education, and Seminar on Professional Practices in Educational Leadership and Management.

Students also complete elective courses such as Educational Management and Administration, Educational Leadership, Educational Planning, Leading Educational Change, Quality of Education, Information and Communication Technology in Education Management, Management of Strategic Policy in Education, Human Resource Management in Education, Financial Planning and Economics of Education, Organizational Behavior and Development in Education, Supervision and Coaching in Educational Organization.

The programme includes a Research Project. It is offered full-time for 2 semesters plus 1 semester (coursework) or part-time for 4 semesters plus 1 semester (coursework).

The minimum requirements for admission in Master of Educational Leadership at Universiti Malaya for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Universiti Malaya.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Universiti Malaya as pre-requiste for admission in Master of Educational Leadership.

General Entry Requirements (Local & International)

For applicants with a CGPA of not less than 3.00: Possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a CGPA of not less than 3.00; or

For applicants with a CGPA of 2.50 – 2.99 (must fulfill at least one of the following): Graduate from University Malaya; or Accumulate at least one (1) year of work experience in related fields; or Produce publications in related field; or Receive a scholarship; or Serve as a staff member of a government agency; or Pass an interview conducted by Faculty; or Pass a Special evaluation by Faculty.

Bachelor's Degree Qualification: Possessed a Bachelor's of Education or Bachelor's degree with Education.

Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree related to any field (CGPA: ≥ 3.00) must fulfill at least ONE of the following criteria: Possessed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (minimum CGPA 3.00); or Teaching Qualification recognized by the university; or At least two (2) years of work experience in education-related fields (Human Resources in Educational Institutions, Teaching, Malaysian Examinations Board); or Professional qualification from a recognized professional body; or Other qualifications approved by the Senate from time to time

OR Applicants with a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor's Degree with Education (CGPA: 2.70 - 2.99) must fulfill at least ONE of the following criteria: UM graduate; or At least two (2) years of work experience in education-related fields (Human Resources in Educational Institutions, Teaching, Malaysian Examinations Board); or Professional qualification from a recognized professional body; or Published in a related field; or A Scholarship holder; or A Government servant; or Pass an interview by PTj; or Pass a Special Assessment by PTj;

OR Applicants with a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor's Degree with Education (CGPA: 2.50 - 2.69) must fulfill at least TWO of the following criteria: UM graduate; or At least three (3) years of work experience in education-related fields (Human Resources in Educational Institutions, Teaching, Malaysian Examinations Board); or Professional qualification from a recognized professional body; or Published in a related field; or A Scholarship holder; or A Government servant; or Pass an interview by PTj; or Pass a Special Assessment PTj;
