Introduction

Bachelor of Pharmacy is a Bachelor program taught at University of Auckland, New Zealand. Intake: Semester One (March). The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Full-time: 4 years) options.

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) prepares students with comprehensive and practical training for a career in pharmacy. Students develop patient assessment, clinical and professional skills for interactions with other health professionals, patients, and the public, and they build critical thinking, problem solving, and the use of research evidence to inform clinical decision making.

The programme is structured as Part II (Year Two) with three courses focused on pharmaceutical science and practice (120 points) plus an English language competency requirement; Part III (Year Three) with two core courses on drug treatments for various diseases (120 points); and Part IV (Year Four) with completion of a dissertation (30 points) and two core courses (90 points).

Students complete practice placements across pharmacy, clinical, and other health settings. After graduation, a year-long pre-registration training programme is administered by the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, and registration as a pharmacist occurs after successful completion of this year.
