PhD Civil Engineering

PhD Civil Engineering is a 3 years PhD program taught at Capital University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options. To successfully obtain PhD Civil Engineering from Capital University of Science and Technology you are required to complete 48 credit hours. After completion of PhD Civil Engineering you will be able to further continue for advance studies or start career as Building Control Surveyor, Civil Engineer.

The Civil Engineering Department has a close liaison with industry and R&D organizations to support its research activities. The PhD program is designed to foster research in the various fields of Civil Engineering disciplines. The fields of research are:

1. Water Resources Engineering and Management (WRE&M).
2. Structural Engineering (SE).
3. Construction Engineering and Management.

The minimum requirements for admission in PhD Civil Engineering at Capital University of Science and Technology for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Capital University of Science and Technology.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Capital University of Science and Technology as pre-requiste for admission in PhD Civil Engineering.

• Minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 (Semester System) or 60% marks (Annual System)
• Admission Test / HEC approved Test
• Interview

A PhD candidate shall be awarded degree on successful completion of the following requirements:

• 18 Cr. Hrs. Course Work with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00.

• 30 Cr. Hrs. Research Work

• Comprehensive Examination (written and oral)

• Synopsis Defence

• Publication /Acceptance of at least one research paper in ISI impact factor journal.

• Thesis Foreign Evaluation

• Local Defense
