Diploma in Echocardiography

Diploma in Echocardiography is a Diploma program taught at Dow University of Health Sciences, Pakistan. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 year) options.

The Diploma in Echocardiography is a program for cardiac sonographers. It focuses on echocardiography as a non-invasive imaging technique to evaluate patients with known or suspected heart disease. Students study how diagnostic ultrasound techniques assess cardiac valves and structures, using M-mode, 2-dimensional, color Doppler, continuous wave, pulse wave, harmonics, strain and strain rate imaging.

The curriculum also emphasizes specialized echo areas, including contrast, stress, transesophageal, 3 dimensional, intracardiac, intravascular, and epicardial echo. The program offers didactic and clinical experience to develop a fully competent cardiac sonographer, in an environment based on teamwork and mutual respect.

The minimum requirements for admission in Diploma in Echocardiography at Dow University of Health Sciences for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Dow University of Health Sciences.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Dow University of Health Sciences as pre-requiste for admission in Diploma in Echocardiography.
