Introduction

MS Chemistry is a Masters program taught at Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS, . The program is offered in campus-based modes with full Time options. To successfully obtain MS Chemistry from Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS you are required to complete 30 credit hours. After completion of MS Chemistry you will be able to further continue for advance studies or start career as Research Chemist, BioChemist.

The MS programmes offered by the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) at LUMS are rigorous and designed to impart specialised professional and research-oriented training. Students have the options to choose from MS-by-Coursework or MS-by-Thesis.

The LUMS MS Chemistry programme, offered by the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE), is an exciting opportunity for students to take advantage of the conducive and thriving research environment to contribute effectively in the development of science. The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering aspires to establish itself as an internationally recognised and globally competitive centre for graduate teaching and research in a wide variety of chemical disciplines that include Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Materials Chemistry, Catalysis, Drug Discovery and Medicinal Chemistry.


Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in MS Chemistry at Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

  • program specific academic requirment set by Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS.
  • English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS as pre-requiste for admission in MS Chemistry.

Applicants must meet the minimum eligibility criteria in order to be considered for admission to the Programme. The MS Chemistry Programme at the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) is a two-year Programme.

Admission is purely merit-based and rests solely on the following criteria:

  • Academic Record;
  • Performance in Admission Tests *;
  • Application Review;
  • Interview Performance (If shortlisted); 
  • Letters of Recommendation; and
  • Submission of complete Online Application, Application Processing Fee and supporting documents by the stipulated deadline

Courses Units

Core Courses

Students opting for MS-with-Thesis must take 18 credit hours of core courses (12 credit hours coursework and 6 credit hours research thesis) and 12 credit hours of electives. The MS-by-Coursework option requires students to take 12 credit hours of core courses and 18 credit hours of electives.
