Applied Computing in Finance

Applied Computing in Finance is a Bachelor program taught at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Four years) options.

The Bachelor of Applied Computing in Finance is a full-time degree jointly offered by Nanyang Business School (NBS) and the College of Computing & Data Science (CCDS). It combines finance domain knowledge with technological and analytical skillsets, including big data analytics and data science in the context of financial services. Students can focus on one of three specializations: Financial Analytics and WealthTech, Crypto Asset and Blockchain, and Digital Banking and Security.

Learning includes co-developed, cross-disciplinary courses by NBS and CCDS with an experiential orientation. Students complete an industry-applied research project based on problem statements proposed by industry partners and co-supervised by faculty from NBS and CCDS. There is also a compulsory professional internship lasting 20 weeks, with an option to extend for another 10 weeks.

Graduates can pursue career options such as data analysts in financial institutions and FinTech firms, digital strategists in financial institutions and consulting firms, and business analysts or product managers in FinTech firms and financial institutions. Potential employers fall into financial institutions, FinTech firms, and analytics/data vendors.
