MA Life Botanic Garden Architecture
Introduction
MA Life Botanic Garden Architecture is a Masters program taught at Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
This short-term Sustainable Design Option Studio 2 trip focuses on research and field work connected to Inujima Life Botanic Garden. Students research “Inujima Life Botanic Garden” where Ito-San of SANAA facilitated a SUTD Inujima project. The work includes developing themes such as “pleasure living with plants,” and activities from self-sufficiency in food to self-sufficiency in energy.
The trip is delivered as a week-long exchange programme. Students visit Kyoto to meet KIT students and professors, receive lessons on Japanese building methods from Mr Asami of Shimaya Stays, and conduct surveys in Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima. They also meet Kasuyo Sejima of SANAA during the exchange. The trip is led by Head of Pillar, Professor Erwin Viray.
