Bachelor of Arts in Economics

Bachelor of Arts in Economics is a Bachelor program taught at Amoud University, Somalia. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years full-time) options.

The Bachelor of Arts in Economics is designed to train professionals in economic studies to work in the public and private sectors. It covers economic theories, principles, and models related to development issues, natural resources, and socio-economic matters particularly relevant to Somaliland and developing countries. The programme consists of coursework, exams, projects, and a required internship of at least 300 hours, spread over eight semesters in four years. Students also complete foundation courses in English, mathematics, science, Arabic, and Islamic studies in their freshman year, which serves as a gateway to the Bachelor programme. The final year involves a research project in economics.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Amoud University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Amoud University.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Amoud University as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

• Successfully complete a one-year freshman programme at Amoud University with a GPA of at least 2.00.
