Doctorate By Research is a PhD program taught at Bircham International University, Spain. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Doctorate by Research is a doctoral-level academic pathway primarily based on independent research. It emphasizes developing advanced research capability, critical analysis, and producing structured scholarly work aligned with an academic field or research topic. Typical components include a defined research topic or proposal, research planning and methodology, structured academic writing, academic supervision or guidance, and submission of a research thesis or equivalent scholarly work, followed by evaluation and review processes.
In distance learning environments, research-oriented doctoral pathways may be delivered through non-presential formats that support independent research work and structured academic assessment. The detailed supervision model, methodology, and evaluation procedures depend on the program design and academic regulations. Within Bircham International University’s academic framework, doctoral-level programs may include research-oriented pathways, with institutional structure and definitions connected to BIU’s broader academic structure resources.
