Introduction

Economy and Society - Bachelor's Programme is a Bachelor program taught at LUND University, Lund, Sweden. Intake: Autumn. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 years) options.

Lund University’s Economy and Society is a three-year bachelor’s programme that helps students understand how economies and societies change over time. Students explore long-term global development and how economic forces and social structures interact, built on economic history, economics, and social sciences. The programme trains students to analyse complex societal issues using models and theories used in current research.

Teaching follows a clear progression. Students begin with global economic history and move into microeconomics, financial economics, and demographic change, supported by training in statistics and data skills. Courses also cover business and society, macroeconomic theory, international economics, and academic writing, followed by regional development, economic growth, and global sustainability.

The programme includes one semester of elective courses, with options to study at Lund University or other universities in Sweden, or to do an exchange semester or internship in Sweden or abroad. The final term focuses on research design and methods before the Bachelor’s thesis.
