Introduction

Public Policy is a Masters program taught at Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1–2 years) options.

The MSc in Public Policy at Stockholm School of Economics trains students to design, implement, and evaluate policies that address climate change, global inequality, international security, and the impact of emerging technologies such as AI. SSE describes the program as multidisciplinary, combining scientific analysis with practical action.

In the first year, students take academic core courses and run a hands-on policy project integrated across the year. The project includes working with a government agency or other organization on a real policy challenge. A parallel skills track covers oral communication, AI-assisted writing, and negotiations.

In the second year, students focus on electives, international exchange opportunities, and an individual professional trajectory. The program also includes a professional internship. SSE supports career planning through a career coach, the SSE Career Hub, and the optional MSc Mentorship Program.
