Chemical Engineering is a 20.9.2027 Bachelor program taught at FHNW - Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz, Switzerland. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (6 Semester (Vollzeit) / max. 12 Semester (Teilzeit)) options.
The Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, major Chemical Engineering (FHNW - Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz) teaches students how to develop modern production facilities and apply sustainable process methods for chemical products. The degree combines chemistry, physics, and mathematics with engineering applications, then deepens study in inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry and in process engineering.
Learning takes place through a strong practical component. Students work on practice-oriented projects in the Process Technology Center (PTC) and in well-equipped laboratories. More than one third of the program consists of laboratory practical work, industry projects, and research involvement. The program uses face-to-face instruction, and students complete an industrial or research placement semester where they also write the bachelor thesis, which can be done internationally.
