Bachelor of Education Primary is a Bachelor program taught at Gulu University, Uganda. Intake: August. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 Years) options.
The Bachelor of Education (Primary) at Gulu University is designed to address regional imbalance in higher learning and to provide Diploma in Education (Primary) graduates with a path to Bachelor’s Degrees in Education (Primary). It aims to produce Arts and Science (primary) graduate teachers, reduce the student-teacher ratio, and improve the quality of Primary School education. The programme also supports teacher skills such as self-directed learning, critical thinking, and problem solving.
Delivery uses face-to-face sessions, print learning support materials, and a blended/online approach. The programme runs for 3 years on distance education mode, with 2 semesters covered in 1 year. Because of space constraints on the main campus, students are accommodated during August–September, April–May, and December–January, and face-to-face sessions include semester examinations. The programme focuses on teaching in primary schools, leading as a headteacher, and designing, implementing, and evaluating primary curricula.
