Bachelor of Arts in Economics

Bachelor of Arts in Economics is a Bachelor program taught at Mountains of the Moon University, Uganda. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Bachelor of Arts in Economics is an undergraduate programme in the Faculty of Business & Management Sciences, offered through the Department of Business Adminstration. Students study Economics alongside Mathematics, as the entry requirements include Mathematics at UCE or its equivalent and a principal pass in Economics at UACE or its equivalent.

The programme is designed for weekend study. The stated programme level is Bachelors and Undergraduate, with a duration of 3 Years. Admission routes include UCE and UACE results, a Diploma in a relevant field from an NCHE-recognized institution, a Higher Education Certificate in a relevant field, or a Mature Age Examinations Certificate with the required percentage.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Mountains of the Moon University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Mountains of the Moon University.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Mountains of the Moon University as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

• At least six (6) passes, including Mathematics at UCE, or its equivalent. Two (2) principle passes obtained at the same sitting at UACE, or its equivalent, one of which must be in Economics.
• Or at least second class Diploma in a relevant field from an institution recognized by NCHE.
• Or a Higher Education Certificate in a relevant field.
• Or holder of Mature Age Examinations Certificate with at least 50%. The Certificate is valid for two years from date of attainment. Applicant should be at least 22 years’ age.
