Bachelor of Fashion and Textiles Design

Bachelor of Fashion and Textiles Design is a Bachelor program taught at Nkumba University, Uganda. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 Years) options.

The Bachelor of Fashion and Textiles Design at Nkumba University trains students to develop a creative fashion and textile mindset. Learning includes interaction, theory, and practical work, supported by up-to-date technologies, to build practical experience alongside study.

Students complete a total credit load of 135 to graduate. The programme includes course modules as shown in the programme structure, with practical experience built through a mix of theory and hands-on work facilitated by technology.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Fashion and Textiles Design at Nkumba University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Nkumba University.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Nkumba University as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor of Fashion and Textiles Design.

Direct Entry Scheme

• At least 5 passes at Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent;
• At least 2 principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.

Diploma holders

• Hold a Credit or Second-Class Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution as determined by the University Senate.
• At least a Pass (50%) in Mature Entry Examinations.

Other

• A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study;
• Any equivalent qualifications besides UCE and UACE.

Mature age Entry

• The applicant should be 25 years of age and above;
• Must have passed mature age entry examinations organized by the National Council for Higher Education.
