Bachelor Of Science In Computer Science (BSC)

Bachelor Of Science In Computer Science (BSC) is a Bachelor program taught at Nkumba University, Uganda. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 Years) options.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSC) at Nkumba University focuses on programming and the fundamentals that support computer software and hardware, using courses such as Computer Mathematics, Data Communications and Networks, Computer Architecture and Organization, Fundamentals of Structured Programming, Operating System, Data Structures, Algorithms Design and Analysis, Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Compiler Design. Students also take electives.

The programme structure covers first-year, second-year, and third-year course units, including Business Communication and IT Research Design and Implementation. It includes an Internship course unit and culminates in a Final project. Across the curriculum, students study areas like numerical computation, programming languages, automata theory, computer graphics, information systems security, and data warehousing and data mining.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor Of Science In Computer Science (BSC) at Nkumba University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Nkumba University.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Nkumba University as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor Of Science In Computer Science (BSC).

Direct Entry Scheme

• At least 5 passes at Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent;
• At least 2 principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.

Diploma holders

• Hold a Credit or Second-Class Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution as determined by the University Senate.
• At least a Pass (50%) in Mature Entry Examinations.

Other

• A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study;
• Any equivalent qualifications besides UCE and UACE.

Mature age Entry

• The applicant should be 25 years of age and above;
• Must have passed mature age entry examinations organized by the National Council for Higher Education.

Other

• A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study;
• Any equivalent qualifications besides UCE and UACE.
