Bachelor Of Arts With Education (Secondary)

Bachelor Of Arts With Education (Secondary) is a Bachelor program taught at Nkumba University, Uganda. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 Years) options.

The Bachelor of Arts with Education (Secondary) at Nkumba University prepares students to become arts teachers for Secondary Education. The curriculum combines core professional course units with two electives selected according to the intended area of specialization. Core units cover topics including History of Education and Contemporary Issues, Computer Literacy, Communication Skills, and Computer Applications, plus education-focused study in areas such as curriculum, teaching methods, and education policy.

Teaching and learning are delivered through semester-based coursework that includes Research Methods and a Report and School Practice. School Practice is completed during the break of the second year and during the break of the third year’s second semester. The program leads to roles such as Secondary School Teacher and Arts Educator, and it also supports careers including Curriculum Developer and Educational Consultant.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor Of Arts With Education (Secondary) at Nkumba University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Nkumba University.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Nkumba University as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor Of Arts With Education (Secondary).

• Direct Entry Scheme: At least 5 passes at Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent;
• At least 2 principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
• Diploma holders: Hold a Credit or Second-Class Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution as determined by the University Senate.
• At least a Pass (50%) in Mature Entry Examinations.
• Other: A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study; Any equivalent qualifications besides UCE and UACE.
• Mature age Entry: The applicant should be 25 years of age and above; Must have passed mature age entry examinations organized by the National Council for Higher Education.
