Introduction

Acting is a Bachelor program taught at Bath Spa University, UK. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Bath Spa University offers a BA (Hons) Acting degree (single honours) that prepares students to work across live performance, screen, voice over, and digital technologies such as mo-cap and animation. The course covers training focused on “Preparing the Actor,” ensemble work, and performance practice, then moves into text work, live and mediated performance, and portfolio building through the module “The Actor’s Portfolio Career.”

Teaching includes practical acting classes, seminars, workshops, tutorials, rehearsals, and small groups, with regular one-to-ones with specialist staff. Acting is assessed through performances, self-reflective journals and essays, vivas, blogs/vlogs, and presentations, with external industry professionals leading final-year projects. It is a full time course with an average of 12 hours of teaching contact and 6 hours of facilitated rehearsals, plus independent study time, and students work through a production-focused final year via Bath Spa Productions and SparkFest.
