Introduction

International Relations and Politics is a Bachelor program taught at Bath Spa University, UK. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

International Relations and Politics is a BA (Hons) combined honours degree at Bath Spa University. You study International Relations alongside Politics, examining how local and global structures interact and how international relations are shaped through everyday actions and formal institutions. Politics modules support your analysis of political ideas, processes and structures, and you explore contemporary change, movements and action alongside historical and philosophical contexts.

The course is hands-on and collaborative. You work with students from other subjects in small seminars and workshops, and you also take part in lectures, practical sessions, masterclasses and field trips. Projects can involve the city, region and wider world, with options such as leading a project team, responding to a defined challenge, or pitching to partner organisations such as NGOs, think tanks or formal political institutions.

Assessment uses a mix of practical tasks and exams, and includes essays, group and individual presentations, online reports, surveys, project portfolios, campaign documents and context papers, podcasts, blog posts and vlogging. You also devise and implement a final project, which may be extended academic writing, a pitch, a community project or digital resources. A professional placement year is available, which can add “with Professional Placement Year” to your degree title.
