Bath Spa University’s BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy prepares you for a career as a speech and language therapist. The course combines core theoretical knowledge with specialist clinical skills for work with speech, language, communication, eating, drinking or swallowing disorders. The degree is practical and includes work placement throughout: 18 weeks (550 hours) on a work placement. Teaching uses lectures, seminars and practical workshops. You are assessed through a range of methods, which may include essays, presentations, projects, case studies, clinical formulations and practical skill assessments.

The course is designed to prepare you to enter the workforce after graduation. Bath Spa University states that you will learn to assess and manage eating, drinking and swallowing through additional placements and practical work on campus, and that you will need to demonstrate competencies to enter the workplace as a practising speech and language therapist.
