Introduction

Art, Design and Media Practice Foundation is a Sep 27 Diploma program taught at Coventry University, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 year) options.

Art, Design and Media Practice Foundation is a one-year, full-time preparatory course for studio-based undergraduate higher education programmes. Coventry University says the diploma lets you explore and experiment across a range of creative disciplines through a mandatory module split into two stages: The Exploratory Stage and The Confirmatory Stage.

Teaching uses a blend of lectures, tutorials, and online learning with no end-of-year exams. Assessment is through coursework, and there are no end-of-year exams. The learning module covers investigation, experimentation, evaluation and review, realisation, communication, and self-directed practice, using a series of projects that build a substantial portfolio.

The Confirmatory Stage includes an independent, self-initiated final major project, with the completed work exhibited at the end of the year. The course is designed to prepare you to progress to a BA (Hons) degree.
