The Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Liverpool John Moores University is a part-time professional doctorate. DBA candidates focus on situational issues from their own workplace while continuing employment. The programme aims to develop skills for rigorous research, support individual projects that impact an organisation and industry, and build an understanding of conceptual and theoretical foundations for business and management research.

Liverpool John Moores University delivers the DBA through blended learning and a cohort-driven structure. The programme includes four one-week residential workshops, monthly virtual action learning sets, and supervision via distance learning. Workshops cover planning, execution, dissemination and impact strategy, academic writing, and viva preparation. Year 4 is for independent study, writing up a thesis, and examination.
