Introduction
BSc Social Sciences Arts and Humanities Foundation Year is a Diploma program taught at School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
SOAS’s BSc Social Sciences Arts and Humanities Foundation Year prepares students for undergraduates by combining academic skills modules with introductions to social sciences, arts, and humanities. Students take lectures and seminars that cover topics taught at SOAS, supported by modules including Academic Practice 1 and 2, Data and Critical Thinking, Digital Skills and Technology, The World from SOAS, Culture, Identity and Power, and Introduction to Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities 1 and 2.
The Foundation Year runs full-time for 4 years, with 8 modules in total across core and compulsory credits. Academic Practice modules develop oral, written, visual, analytical, and team-working skills through portfolio assessment, an Independent Study Project, and reflective work. Students also build a digital portfolio in Digital Skills and Technology and complete assessments that apply theoretical concepts to chosen cultural examples.
SOAS states that students who pass the Foundation Year can automatically progress onto any SOAS degree. The course is designed for students who would benefit from an additional year before starting an undergraduate degree, including those without direct entry qualifications or subject background.

Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission in BSc Social Sciences Arts and Humanities Foundation Year at School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:
