Introduction

Professional Legal Practice LLM is a Masters program taught at Southampton Solent University, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Southampton Solent University’s LLM Professional Legal Practice prepares students for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination, covering the functional legal knowledge for SQE 1 and the professional legal skills needed for SQE 2. The course includes SQE 1 Preparation, SQE 2 Preparation, and optional modules such as Legal Risk Management, Compliance and Artificial Intelligence; Negotiation and Dispute Resolution; Commercial Law; Intellectual Property Law; Dissertation; and Internship.

The course is delivered in collaboration with the College of Legal Practice and is taught by a mix of professional academic staff and practising solicitors. SQE preparation sessions run in traditional workshop-sized groups and large group sessions, with guest lectures and personalised supervision. Students access SQE multiple choice questions, SQE assessment simulations, and “SQE ready reviews,” plus Law School events such as workshops, Q&As, mock trials, and mock mediations.
