Introduction
Electronic Engineering BEng is a Bachelor program taught at Southampton Solent University, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 years) options.
Electronic Engineering BEng (Hons) at Southampton Solent University is an electronics-focused degree with a broad curriculum covering analogue and digital electronics, embedded systems, signal processing technologies, and modern communications. In the first year, students build a foundation in maths and circuitry, then study analogue, digital, and microcomputer systems, with industry software and manufacturing techniques. In the second and third year, students study embedded systems and advanced data communications, complete their own research, and undertake a major practical project.
Teaching includes access to high-end electronic engineering facilities such as 3D printers and laser cutters, PSpice/NI MultiSim software, microcomputer development systems, digital multi-meter signal generators, FLIR cameras, and digital signal processing boards. The course is also offered on a one-day-per-week part-time study basis for professional CPD, aimed at applicants already in employment.
