Maritime Management Top Up BSc

Southampton Solent University’s Maritime Management Top-Up BSc (Hons) is a dedicated one-year top-up degree for qualified seafarers. Students study legal, financial and management areas of the maritime industry through core modules including Digital Business and E-commerce, Maritime Sustainability, Strategic Management, and an Industry Research Project.

Teaching combines collaborative, guided, and directed learning. Students study alongside maritime business and ship and port management degree students and work on real-world problems from the industry. Assessment uses assignments, group work, individual presentations, group presentations, and written exams.

The programme is designed for qualified deck and engineering officers moving from seagoing roles to shore-side careers. Graduates have taken operational roles with companies including Aramco, Carnival, Zodiac Maritime, DP World, and ABP, and some continue into legal and marine insurance fields.
