BSC Environmental Management with Professional Placement is a Bachelor program taught at University of Manchester, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
BSc Environmental Management with Professional Placement at The University of Manchester is a four-year degree that explores the Earth’s natural resources, how human societies interact with them, and how they can be managed sustainably. Students study environmental systems and the human impacts on them, and how to manage those interactions using scientific principles and policy frameworks.
The course includes a year-long placement in the environmental sector in the third year, normally lasting 9–12 months, plus small-group and classroom-based learning with fieldwork. Teaching uses lectures, field visits, tutorials, seminars, and workshops, with practical subjects taught in university computer suites and field skills taught across urban and rural locations, with support from School laboratories for some environmental sample analysis.
The degree is assessed through coursework and continuous assessment, and the professional placement year is assessed on completion through a reflective report about experiences and career implications. The course prepares graduates for careers across private, public, and charitable organisations.
